new uglyman
Thanks to everyone for the tips - That's the first I've ever heard of the gorilla at Woodland Park - I don't bear much resemblance to a gorilla except for a few personal habits- I am working hard on my beer drinking skills so I can try to keep up & I promise not to take more than 3 or 4 minutes to hit a shot when it's clearly my turn. I've no wisdom to impart right now (probably because I'm sober), but am definitely looking forward to the trip. Bobo

Yes, it is the one and only. I talked with him Friday and he said he signed up and will post some "wisdom" soon.

Re: new uglyman
I remember one of Bill Cosby's earliest comedy albums contained a hilarious bit about BoBo the Gorilla in Seattle. Something about not wanting to mate with Fifi.

Re: new uglyman
Bobo was indeed the name of the Gorilla at the woodland Park Zoo who died back in the mid to late 1960's. About the same time that Namu the killer whale was the star attraction on the Seattle waterfront, until he was found tangled in his net pen and drowned. Coincidense?.......

BoBo,
The main things you need to do to REALLY make an immediate positive impression include:
1) Be sure to have one of those orange "fishing" devises to get a ball out of the water that shows predominately out of your bag, and spend a bunch of time looking for your ball while everyone waits and proudly pronounce "hey, I didn't find my ball but I got 2 Pinnacles";
2) The sun can be kind of intense at times, so be sure to buy and use regularly one of those umbrellas you can attach to your golf bag, flare it out proudly as you go up the fairway;
3) "Fluff" your ball a lot for a better lie. Everyone loves that.
4) Please don't bother to start the process of selecting your club for the next shot until it is clearly your turn. When it finally becomes "your turn", select a club that is too much or too little for the shot, take several practice swings, throw up some grass to assess the wind, then look to the horizon for a minute, select another more appropriate club, then start the warm up swings and grass throwing again;
5) Every putt should be "plumb bobbed" and walked off from all sides, no reason to assess the putt before it is clearly your turn either, all want to watch the process.
6) If Griz or Wes actually smack you with a 9 iron as you adhere to all these suggestions, just know that take is slow works for Bernhard Langer, and they can just go "f" themselves.
Just trying to get you off to a good start buddy. Trust me.

Snapper did warn you that most of us struggle to break 90 right?
And rather than practice and get better, we just do our best to bring others up to our level, through sleep deprivation, and over indulgeance on every level we can think of!

Well boys, I finally got the Vegas contingent to grow...by one, but it's a start. Bobo (Bob Chandler) will fit right in and can compete at all facets of our various "competitions"...if you know what I mean.
