Very sad indeed, but also a good reminder of how unexpected life can be. It probably also answers the question of why he didn't hear the tree coming, most guitar players that age that I know are at least half deaf. R.I.P. Joe, sorry for you, but glad it wasn't one of us.

I was amazed that someones life was cut short in such a random , freak accident just down the lake from us on Monday night.
Joe played in several bands and some that we grew up with in the 70's Shyanne, Bighorn,and later played with Magic Bus ,and KZOK's Spike and the Impalers. Recently Joe played with Paul Rodgers of Bad Company,Joe was trying to tie up the dock alittle better when a tree hit him ,Like I'll be back in a second after I fix the dock ,hey grab me a cold one while you're up. Then Bam lights out.
